Four Day Spiritual Retreat

Date: October 1–4, 2025
The Archdiocese of Ranchi organized a four-day spiritual retreat for youth from October 1 to 4, 2025, under the theme “Put Your Faith In the Lord.” Youth from three parishes took part, fully engaging in worship, prayer, and reflection to deepen their faith.

Bosco Milan 2025

Date: October 1–4
Venue: Don Bosco Kuwarmunda, Delhi

The annual Bosco Milan 2025 gathering was held from October 1 to 4 at Don Bosco Kuwarmunda, Delhi. All Bosco families participated in the event, which offered new experiences, learnings, and opportunities for youth involvement. This year, 14 Salesian parish communities took part, including two new parishes—Kolenara and Lucknow.

A total of 50 participants represented the Bosco Milan 2025 parish. From our parish, two groups of young people participated—one from the Center House and one from the FHA Salesian Family, guided by the Mabarelli Institute. The participants competed proudly and represented the parish family.

Competitions Held

  1. Bible Poetry Competition – Sadhaget Tya (St. Mark’s)
  2. Land Dance Competition – based on the theme “Hope of the Prophet.”
  3. Short Film Presentation

Travel and Arrival

The programme began at 1:00 PM. The youth group left from Hotiya Station at 7:00 AM for Chana Raulena. Due to limited tickets, some youth had to travel later, leaving after lunch at 2:00 PM. The train was delayed at Gaipad, but despite the inconvenience, all participants safely reached ITC Kuwarmunda Don Bosco by 1:00 PM, where accommodations were arranged.

LAF - Youth, Leaders and Animators Formation Programme

Date: September 11–14, 2025
Organised by: Hyderabad Province

The Hyderabad Province organised the Leaders and Animators Formation (LAF) Programme from September 11 to 14, 2025. 

at Don Bosco Shrine, Bardi, and the Don Bosco Provincial Library, Dishagir, Hyderabad. Participants also come from Kolkata. From our province, five youth and Fr. Abhay took part. They departed for Hyderabad on September 10 and arrived on the morning of September 14. All other participants arrived on September 11. After the evening Rosary, everyone rested before the main programme began.

The day began with Morning Prayer conducted by Hesag Parish, followed by Holy Mass led by the Delhi group, accompanied by the Garh Choir. Fr. Patrick Lepchha delivered the first session.

The session focused on:

  • Youth Protagonists and Advocacy – encouraging young people to take leadership roles and stand for justice.
  • Becoming young heroes by discovering and expressing one’s true inner originality.
  • The G-2 protests in Nepal were given as an example of youth courage in speaking against corruption.
  • Strengthening one’s spirit and deepening personal identity as essential qualities of leadership.

Mothers' Day Celebration

Date: 31st August 2025

The Christ the King Church hosted a special celebration on 31st August 2025, beginning with Holy Mass at 6:00 AM. Following the entrance dance, the chairperson addressed the gathering briefly. The Ursuline and St. Charles superiors performed garland offerings on the statue of St. Monica, and the chairperson gave a vote of thanks after the Mass.

After breakfast at 9:00 AM, guests were escorted from the house to the hall by 9:30 AM, where the main programme commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Fr. Pradeep Tiki, Sister Emma, Sister Dorothy, and other dignitaries. The programme included:

  • Garland offerings by Sister Dorothy
  • Two minutes of silent prayer for deceased mothers
  • Prayer dance by Sunday school children
  • Welcome address by the chairperson and a welcome song by the committee
  • Tribal dances by various parish units, including Rudung Kocha, Tumbagutu, and Hesag units
  • A drama presentation by the Kalyanpur unit
  • Messages from Ursuline and St. Charles superiors
  • Religious dance by Gitilpidi
  • Youth dance performance
  • Felicitation of mothers honored from 2000 to 2024
  • Message from the chief guest
  • Vote of thanks by Deputy Secretary Epil Tidu

The celebration concluded with a song dedicated to St. Monica, creating a spiritually uplifting and memorable event for all participants.

Tribal Dance Competition and Fashion Show 2025

Organized by: Ranchi Youth Association
Venue: St. Joseph’s Club, Ranchi

On Sunday, September 14, a group of youth from Hesag travelled by bus to Kharsidag, accompanied by the Sisters of St. Charles Ursuline. The ERO and the Guardian of the Kharsidag Unit, who helped train the group in the Andawashi dance, were also present. The bus reached Kharsidag at 1:30 PM, and all participants were later taken to St. Joseph’s Club, Ranchi, arriving around 10:30 AM, where the bus was parked at Loyola.

At the venue, Bishop Swami welcomed the youth, checking their ID cards and encouraging them with a meaningful message: “I am yours; please protect our tradition.”

A total of 25 parishes took part in the competition. Although the Parora dance was not performed in the gymnasium, 30 participants

from our village joined the event. Along with the dance competitions, a wedding-themed fashion show was also held, with nearly 2,000 boys and girls participating. From our team, Khushi (Pildko Parosh) secured second place in the fashion show.

After the competitions, the youth enjoyed a fun and relaxing boat ride, bringing the event to a joyous conclusion. 

The Two-Day Leadership Camp - Singpure

Date: 16–17 August 2025
Organized by: Archdiocese of Ranchi, Youth Association

A two-day leadership camp was organized by the Archdiocese of Ranchi Youth Association from August 16–17, 2025, in Singapore. The programme began on August 16 at 1:00 AM with registration, 

group formation, and room allocation. A welcome address was given by Alex tirkey, followed by a welcome prayer from fr. Sumit. The flag was hoisted by Fr. Sumit and Fr. Deepak.

Inspirational sessions were conducted by Fr. Deepak Kindo and Kuldeep Dada. After lunch, the participants engaged in animation activities and group discussions. At 4:15 PM, a Rosary procession was held, followed by Holy Mass celebrated by Archbishop Vincent. The evening included dinner, a cultural programme, a campfire, and concluded with a prayer led by Sr. Lucy and Sr. Sangeeta.

On August 17, the second day began with morning Mass, breakfast, animation, and another session by Fr. Sumit. Group discussions, the annual agenda, and a panel discussion followed. After lunch, the youth participated in additional animation activities and a second session led by Fr. Deepak Kindo, which concluded with a time of worship. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Uttam Shishir.

The camp highlighted essential qualities of leadership, teaching that a good leader both knows the way and shows the way. Leadership requires honesty, knowledge, willpower, and vision. A true leader inspires others, leads through service, and puts others’ needs first. As taught by St. Paul, leadership must be rooted in love.

International Youth Day - Singpur

Date: 10 August 2025 (Sunday)

On 10 August 2025, International Youth Day was celebrated at Singpur with great enthusiasm. The programme was organised as a one-day conference, in which 500–600 youth participated actively.

The event began at 3:00 PM with a welcome address by the parish

priest, Fr. Suman Dungdung. On this occasion, Fr. Prakash Saren was the chief speaker. Other guests present included Fr. Masih, Fr. Sumban, Fr. Pritap, Fr. Prakash, and Sr. Anna, along with the sisters from St. Charles.

Youth from five parishes took part in this meaningful gathering, which aimed to motivate, inspire, and strengthen unity among young people.

The Oath Ceremony of New Committee Members (2025-2027)

Date: August 3, 2025 – Sunday

The regular Sunday service began at 6:00 AM, led by Pradeep, with Fr. Abhay Minz delivering the sermon. During the service, an oath 

ceremony was held for the newly elected youth committee members for the 2025-2027 term.

The new members were formally introduced and entrusted with their responsibilities in the presence of the congregation. A token of gratitude was offered to the outgoing committee for their dedicated service, and the incoming committee was warmly welcomed with appreciation and blessings.

The event was conducted smoothly and joyfully, marking a significant moment of leadership transition within the church youth community.

Salesian Co-operators Pilgrimage

Organized by: Christ the King Church, Hesag Parish

The Salesian Co-operators of Hesag Parish undertook a spiritual pilgrimage on 20th July 2025, visiting several parishes and 

communities around Ranchi to pary, reflect, and interact with fellow co-operatorts.

The day began with Holy Mass at Hesag Parish at 6:00 AM, followed by breakfast at 7:30 AM. The group departed from Hesag to Samlong Parish at 8:45 AM, arriving at 9:15 AM, and then proceeded to St. Mary’s Cathedral Church, Ranchi, for a short prayer service with intentions from 10:00–10:30 AM.

Next, the pilgrimage continued to Holy Angels’ Church, Kokar, where a Rosary service was held from 11:00–11:30 AM, followed by an interaction with the co-operators of Kokar Parish until 12:00 PM. From 12:30–1:15 PM, the group participated in an Adoration Service at the Don Bosco Bariyatu Community, followed by lunch and interaction with the Bariyatu co-operators.

In the afternoon, the co-operators visited Kanke Parish, spending time in prayer and reflection from 4:00–5:00 PM. The pilgrimage concluded with the group returning to Hesag Parish by 6:15 PM.

The pilgrimage provided an opportunity for prayer, community interaction, and spiritual enrichment, fostering stronger ties among the Salesian Co-operators across the region.

Goa Youth Trip

Date: June 3, 2025 – 10:55 PM

The youth group began their Goa trip on May 31, having dinner together at Hatia Station before departure. On June 1, they travelled via Visakhapatnam and reached Madgaon Station at 1:00 AM, where they rested. On June 2, the group visited Colva Beach, St. Francis Church, and a local fort before reaching their villa in Candolim by 8:00 PM, where they prepared dinner together.

On June 3, after breakfast, the youth visited Gurim Beach, enjoyed lunch, and later enjoyed a ship cruise from 7:00 PM. They returned by 8:30 PM and had dinner before resting for the night.
On June 4, the group explored Aguada FortCandolim BeachChapora Fort, and Anjuna Beach, followed by dinner and a late-night outing.

On June 5, after a late start, the youth visited the Aguada Jail MuseumBaga Beach, and spent time shopping before concluding the day.
On June 6, after breakfast, they travelled from Candolim to Madgaon Station and proceeded toward Mumbai and then Rourkela, arriving on June 8. Meals during the journey were arranged thoughtfully by the accompanying adults.

Throughout the trip, Mrs. Poonam, Rick Vervana, Mrs. Roshni, Mrs. Sama, and Mrs. Anuya ensured everyone’s safety, meals, comfort, and enjoyment. Thanks to their care and guidance, the Goa trip was a memorable and successful experience for all the youth.

Picnic to Ulung Waterfall

Date: 19 January 2025

On 19 January 2025, the youth group organised a picnic at Ulung Waterfall. The day began with everyone waking up at 10:00 AM, after which they proceeded to the waterfall before attending Mass scheduled at 12:30 PM. The group reached the location safely and enjoyed coffee upon arrival, followed by lunch, which continued until 1:00 PM.

After lunch, all participants, along with the Dossier and the youth leader, worked together to ensure the smooth running of the programme. The return journey began at 5:00 PM, heading back toward Hesag Parish. Although they were expected to arrive around 1:00 PM, heavy traffic caused a delay, and the group reached the parish later than planned.

Overall, the picnic was enjoyable, well-organised, and safely completed by all the youth.

SYM Fest Youth Meet - Chennai & Tirupattur

Date: December 19, 2024, to January 1, 2025

The SYM Fest Youth Meet, organised by the Delhi SDB at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, in collaboration with SYM Fest Chennai, was held from December 19, 2024, to January 1, 2025. A total of 200 parish youth participated in the event, which included competitions, cultural programmes, prayer services, and motivational sessions.

The participants arrived at Chennai Central Station and travelled to Tirupattur by bus. The Amin Youth Gathering was held on December 28. The programme began with the SYM 63 flag hosting on December 9, followed by motivational talks, cultural performances, a welcome dance competition, and a painting contest.

On December 30, a key session addressed issues related to fake and artificially processed goods in the market, followed by group discussions. The day concluded with a prayer service, the recitation of the Rosary, and the Masses.

A cultural exchange was organised in which participants shared special dishes. A nature procession highlighted unity and environmental care. New Year’s celebrations included a Thanksgiving Mass on December 31 and a special blessing mass at 11 PM. The Delhi SDB team won second place in the Rangoli Sad competition and first place in the Printing Competition.

on jnauary2, 2025. The youth of Hesag Parish went on an excursion to Mahabalipuram, visiting St. Thomas Church and Marina Beach before reaching Hariyana the next morning.

A preparatory meeting will be held before Christmas to plan the next event, competitions, and travel details. The entire programme was safely guided by Fr. Poonam, Sr. Varthila, and Sr. Sema, ensuring a successful and enriching SYM Fest for all.
